1932 Epiphone Deluxe Arch Top Guitar

Photo for Ad 139763

When the Epiphone Deluxe was introduced in 1931, it was the most powerful archtop guitar of its day. The 16” body initiated the race between Epiphone and major rival Gibson to see who could build the largest arch top. Epiphone won the loudness sweepstakes hands down, by increasing the scale length to the now more common 25.5”. This combined with the increased body size, makes for one powerful tone machine.

This example features stunning vine peg head inlays with the “Deluxe” Banner displaying the "Masterbilt" logo. The ebony fretboard has fancy inlays as well.

This guitar is extremely clean, without cracks or repairs, but the original tuners and tailpiece have been replaced with modern equivalents. It was probably refinished blonde long ago, aged now to a golden tone with delicate feathering. This instrument sounds and plays like a dream.

$6500 with period Epiphone hard case
