1912 Dyer Bros. Harp Guitar Model 8

Photo for Ad 138286

There is nothing more beautiful, more exquisite, more collectable and more rare than this early 20th Century Dyer Bros. Style 8 Harp Guitar. The ultimate creation of the luthier’s art, the style 8 was the top-of-the-line and is considered the “Holy Grail” of harp guitars and even collectable acoustic instruments. In fact, only a dozen are known to exist! Even rarer among the style 8 instruments is this example, with unique side carving not seen on any other. The guitar peghead is heavily inlaid with an elaborate leaf and vine motif in a delicate combination of abalone and mother of pearl. The intricate inlay pattern known as “the tree of life” graces the fret board. Abalone is also inlaid as part of the border of both the guitar and the harp section.  The instrument also features a master grade spruce top and triple-bound mahogany back & sides.
The harp section peg head is triple bound and the 6 harp section strings feature banjo type tuning machines, while the guitar section has a slotted peg head fitted with engraved classical style machines. The guitar section plays almost effortlessly and its' tone is sweet and resonant, while the bass strings resonate powerfully. This is an amazing opportunity to add the crowning touch to any world-class vintage guitar collection.
