1939 Martin D-28

Photo for Ad 136807

1939 Martin D-28, Serial Number 71969

This D-28 is in generally Good Condition.
It is an early 1939 production guitar with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Sitka Spruce top and a one piece Mahogany neck measuring at 1.75”.

It is in need of some repairs:

* One loose back brace.
*A small crack in the face of the guitar the lower bout of the bass side.
* A bridge plate which has been breached by the ball ends of the strings.

The instrument has been altered from it’s original condition as follows.

*Abalone purling has been installed throughout the guitars face, sides and peg head to mimic the ornamentation a Martin D-42 model. This alteration seems to have been done professionally.

The bridge is not original but has been replaced with one that would not be period correct for this year.

I am not knowledgeable of vintage instruments thus have described this guitar based on an appraisal just completed by a professional. This appraisal is available upon request and values the guitar from $47,850.00 - $64,350.00.

$42,000 plus shipping
