1951 Gibson Lg-1 Acoustic Guitar

Photo for Ad 130185

For sale is an excellent sounding and playing 1951 Gibson LG 1 guitar. This is a serious arm chair, song writing, finger picking, camp fire, or pro gigging vintage Gibson guitar with “The Look”. For Real!!! She has lotsa of finish nicks and dings, some finish flaking on the peg head, 3 or 4 fairly short, very tight back crack repairs, one small screw hole just above the end pin on bottom, a new replaced replica bridge with bone saddle and finish around bridge showing evidence of the former sloppy bridge re-glue. That’s the part that keeps it from being a museum piece but will make it an excellent value. I love the mojo, you might not.

It has the original, good condition bridge plate, original Kluson Deluxe no line tuners that are painted silver and have new replacement buttons (they work great), original pick guard, no top cracks, original finish with no overspray, the original fingerboard has only slight digital ridges but no deep fingernail washboarding or divots at all, I had the original frets dressed and they have plenty meat left, all original braces that have been checked thoroughly and loose ones glued tightly by my luthier. The guitar was thoroughly gone over and made totally sound in all respects.

Now the serious part. This guitar is ready to go the day you unpack it unless you have a favorite string type you choose to use.
These early small bodied, ladder braced Gibson guitars are remarkable. The sound is very full and balanced with more volume than usually expected. The action and intonation is fine.

I have described this guitar as thoroughly as I can think to. If I have left something out or any further info you would like, don’t hesitate to ask. I will be completely open and truthful. I have pictures. I got it with no case, however, I will ship it in a fiber board or chipboard case unless you wish me to buy a new cheaper hard case. It will be packed very well. Due to cosmetic issues, I will sell this guitar far less than the price these usually command. $990.00 + free shipping. Don’t hesitate to ask a question or shoot me an offer. Lord bless.
