Stradolin Arch Top Mandolin, C. 1950

Photo for Ad 126786

Stradolin Arch Top Mandolin, c. 1950, made in New York City, natural lacquer finish, laminated mahogany body; poplar neck with rosewood fingerboard, original tweed chipboard case.

Overall length is 25 1/2 in. (64.8 cm.), 10 in. (25.4 cm.) width, and 2 in. (5.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 13 3/4 in. (349 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.). This "Strad" model was the most basic of all Strad-O-Lins, with a plain mahogany finish and only simple ornamentation. This one remains a nice clean and all-original mandolin overall, showing signs of average use. The only major finish wear is to the back and treble side of the neck where some lacquer is rubbed away from play. The tailpiece cover shows some moderately severe corrosion and plating loss. While this is very simple design it is still a good-sounding F-hole student mandolin, complete in the original SSC. Excellent - Condition.
