I’m stealing some of this advertisement from another Johnny Rushings guitar of the same model.
Handmade JP Rushing Dreadnought Sitka Spruce top, very figured ribbon mahogany back and side guitar. This guitar is highly similar to a Martin D-18, Huss and Dalton D1 or Collings D-1. It has a beautiful, balanced tone. The guitar was made by luthier Johnny (JP) Rushing. Rushing is a revered guitar luthier and repairman from East Tennessee who learned his craft from mandolin builder Luke Thompson. There are a couple of good YouTube videos with decent audio of Johnny and his guitars.
This guitar has beautiful balance, with a strong bass. Sitka has a balanced resonant sound with good sustain and a very wide dynamic range. The mahogany back and sides provide a sweet "woody" tone that is good in trebles and bass.
This Rushing has an ebony fretboard, ebony bridge, sitka top, D-28 style rosette, simple appointments, mahogany back and sides, strap button. Width at nut is a comfortable 1 and 11/16". The action is absolutely killer. This is probably the best playing guitar I have ever owned.
Cosmetically, this is a player’s guitar with its share of dings and places in the finish. They are mostly on the top and also a slight finish check that runs right along the behind the bridge the the end of the guitar. Everything appears solid as a rock on this guitar and it’s ready to be played. It’s comes with shaped black hard shell case. You cannot beat this guitar for the money $975 shipped in the US. ON HOLD
