2002 Gibson F5G (Modified)

Photo for Ad 118649

Great sounding Gibson F5 mandolin that has had several modifications: It was recently refretted with jumbo sized fret wire, the fingerboard extension has been removed to avoid pick-click, the finish has been removed from the neck (speed neck). There are several dings, pecks, and some finish wear/aging around the mandolin but there are no cracks, separations, or previous repairs. The mandolin plays great with the modifications and a very low action (4/64" at 12th fret) and sounds like a classic Gibson F5! We have found that these Gibson mandolins from Charlie Derrington's tenure sound consistently great. Nut width: 1 1/16" Comes with a Superior brand fiberglass hardshell case.
