I am ready to let go of the family mandolin. Not sure of exact date. Serial No. 1861. For photos and additional info use the advanced search under the forum tab and enter edurfey as the user name. From my novice point of view, it is in excellent condition with probably the original strings, and probably never repaired, cleaned or polished. There is some very minor surface rust on the machine shafts and a little around the head plate screws. Instrument has been unplayed for years and as far as I know stored with the strings slacked. Nut width is 1 1/8" and scale length is 13"
It has been carefully stored since my grandmother had it sometime in the late 1920's. From what I gather, this is in excellent condition for its age.

I thought I would start with asking $4300, shipping additional, and see what the interest is.
I really want this to go to someone who can really appreciate it and hopefully play it as it was meant to be...
Erik
