This is a rare bird, one of the "Summer Strummer" specials from Taylor's offerings in 2003. It is apparently highly prized and kept by those who have oneThe 600 SPEC - arguably the nicest all time noncustom 614CE and probably will never be seen again in the 600 series due to the appointments - gloss coco headstock, full rosewood binding AND abalone trimmed top."
The flame maple back on this guitar has the visual appearance of 1/2" deep ripples in the wood. It plays like a dream. Taylor told me that they made 88 of these. Serial Number indicates it was started in October 2003. Mine has Taylor-branded tuners. Mine also has tighter-grained flamed maple on the back and sides - almost like the inside of corrugated cardboard, and very 3D-visually. The top is very tight-grained spruce, with some darker brown bands, center-to-edge.
One piece Sitka spruce top
Flamed maple back and sides with cocobolo wedge.
1 3/4 nut width
It's the equivalent of taylor 614ce limited series when taylor haven't thought of it in 2003.
Comes with the original Taylor branded case. Lots of pictures in the link. The top has aged nicely. A few small players marks here and there on top as you would expect for a 2003 guitar.
Let me know if you need specific pics or have any other questions.
