What this icon stands for

PDF (Portable Document Format) is a product of Adobe and is used throughout this site as a means of providing information to you. PDF allows web developers to create images and text in a wide variety of design formats and preserves the integrity of the original design for viewers (fonts, pictures, etc.).

For the Mandolin Cafe this means I can offer chord charts, scales, documents with custom fonts, sheet music, mechanical drawings of mandolins, etc. in the programs in which they were created.

These files can then be saved on your hard drive and printed, and the quality is remarkably good (granted you have a decent printer). When you see the icon at the top of the page, that means there's an Adobe Acrobat file with mandolin information available for download. But to view or print the file you'll need the Adobe Acrobat reader. The link below will take you to the Adobe web site where you can download this free software.
