Seattle, Wash. — Dusty Strings Acoustic Music Shop is proud to host two Rich DelGrosso Blues Mandolin Workshops on Saturday, August 16, 2008.
Each workshop is $35, or students may enroll in both for $60.
From 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m the topic will be Rags, Drags, Stomps and Shuffles, Part I: Music of the African-American Mandolinist.
From 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. a continuation of Rags, Drags, Stomps and Shuffles, Part II: Music of the African-American Mandolinist.
DelGrosso is a specialist with an emphasis on the styles of Yank Rachel, Howard Armstrong and Johnny Young. A truly great player and teacher, he has taught music for over 25 years. He also has a regular column in Mandolin Magazine, and his writing has been featured in Living Blues, Mandolin World News, and Frets magazines.
His latest book, Mandolin Blues: from Memphis to Maxwell Street, was released in 2005 and is an essential reference for the Blues Mandolinist.
