Indianapolis, Ind. — A tribute to one of the last original great blues mandolinists has been completed and is now available for sale.

Following a successful release concert on June 8, the James "Yank" Rachell tribute CD, a charitable, not for profit venture featuring an all-star line-up is now available for purchase.

All proceeds go to benefit Yank Rachell's surviving family.

Performers on the recording include David Grisman, John Sebastian, Tim O'Brien, Mike Seeger, Rich DelGrosso, Andra Faye, David Grier, Pete Rowan, Curtis Buckhannon, Jim Richter, Yank Rachell's daughters May Nell & Willia B. and granddaughter Sheena, and many others.

A quote from David Evans of The University of Memphis sums up the importance of Yank Rachell in the musical world. "There can be little doubt about the importance of James "Yank" Rachell in the history of the blues. He is one of only two major blues mandolinists and the only one to carry that instrument to any degree into the blues revival scene from the 1960's onward."
