John Reischman & the Jaybirds - Stellar Jays
John Reischman & The Jaybirds have received a nomination for a 2008 JUNO Award for their 2007 release, Stellar Jays in the category Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Group. The JUNOs are Canada's premiere music awards.
In announcing the recording, the Academy wrote:
With four critically acclaimed albums and expanded touring schedule, John Reischman & The Jaybirds continue to deliver a truly fresh blend of original songs and instrumentals. Featuring nine new songs, Stellar Jays is the latest in a series of CDs to win rave reviews for a trademark, old-time-infused bluegrass sound that respects tradition while advancing the music.
The JUNO Awards will be held April 6, 2008 in Calgary and will be hosted by Russell Peters.
