California Coast Music Camp 2010

Palo Alto, Calif. — California Coast Music Camp (CCMC), celebrating their 19th year in bringing the finest in quality music instruction to adults has announced the dates of their two week-long summer programs.

Sessions will be held July 11-17 and July 18-24, 2010, and students may register for one or both weeks. In 2009, a new camp location in the Placer County Gold Country of California was successfully inaugurated.

More than 30 classes in mandolin, acoustic guitar, bass, voice, fiddle, banjo, ukulele, percussion, songwriting, and more. Styles include swing, blues, bluegrass, country, folk, Brazilian, Celtic, jazz, rock, and more. Plus workshops, jams, concerts, dances, and other fun packed activities.

Mandolinist Steve Smith will be teaching "Mandolin Basics" and "Bluegrass Mandolin and Beyond" in Week 1.

For Week 2, Marla Fibish will teach "Beginning Irish Mandolin" and "Accompany Your Singing on Mandolin and Mandola."

Radim Zenkl will also teach in Week 2, adding "Advanced Mandolin (Bluegrass and Swing)."

There are also band workshops and purely repertoire classes that mandolin players can enjoy, not to mention all kinds of unlimited jamming opportunities.

Whether you're a shy beginner or a seasoned professional, CCMC's classes and activities will challenge and inspire you. The supportive atmosphere will encourage you to stretch musically, regardless of your level or experience. In addition to the summer music camp, CCMC produces other events during the year, including a winter retreat and reunion, a spring dance, and more.
