Spokane Valley, Wa. — Santa's Missing Mandolin and Other Christmas Stories, a collection of seven short stories by Mark J. McCracken has been published by McLyda Family Publishing.
McCracken is an award winning author, chef, retired Coast Guardsman, high school teacher and coach. He is also the author of "The Fantail Chef" a cookbook for boaters, the mystery novels "Sherlock Holmes and the Missing Manuscript" and "Dashiell Hammett, Pinkerton Man."
The author also plays mandolin in the Spokane, Washington bluegrass band, "The Bluegrass Spectators."
In the titled story, Santa's mandolin is stolen from a repair shop under mysterious circumstances. It is up to a lone detective and the help of a secret unknown official to recover the stolen mandolin.
