Montreal, Canada — The Classical Mandolin Society of America will hold their 22nd annual convention this year in Montreal in cooperation with the host orchestra Mandolinata on October 15-19, 2008 at the Sandman Hotel in Longueuil, Quebec.
The CMSA convention is the largest gathering of classical mandolin players in North America. In addition to performances of classical mandolin music, there are always opportunities to participate in workshops and impromptu jams for many different musical styles.
Early registration for this year's convention is essential as a large response is expected.

* Gala Buffet Banquet
* Tamara Volskaya and Anatolyi Trofimov performing and running Technique Workshops
* Seminars and Workshops, Open Mic Sessions, and Welcome Party (Wed night)

* 5th Annual Mandolin Instructor's Workshop (Carlo Aonzo)
* 7th Annual CMSA Classical Mandolin Championship

Important Note: Because there is no hotel shuttle from the airport and taxis are very expensive (~$C60), our hosts are volunteering shuttle service for $C15, but to be included you must notify Johanna Hebing of your flight arrival ASAP!

When you make reservations, ask for the Classical Mandolin Society of America discount rate (Single - $C120). Rooms will only be discounted until September 1. Any full-time student is encouraged to apply for a CMSA Convention Scholarship. Convention fees are waived for scholarship recipients.
U.S. citizens planning on attending will need a valid passport for travel to Canada.
