New York, N.Y. — Steve James will host a blues mandolin workshop on July 17, 2008, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at 19 West 21st Street, STE 1002.

The cost of the workshop is $65 and attendance will be limited to a dozen students.

Based in Austin, Texas, Steve has become known internationally as a prime exponent of contemporary American roots music through nearly non-stop touring, numerous recordings (solo and in support of other artists), books, videos and articles. A world renowned fingerstyle and bottleneck guitarist, he has played live with a slate of blues/roots luminaries including John Hammond, Bo Diddley, Buddy Guy, Howard Armstrong and his frequent duet partner Del Rey.

Steve has released two very popular volumes of Blues Mandolin Instruction on Homepsun Tapes, and has several DVD's and Instructional books on Fingerstyle Guitar and Bottleneck Blues with Hal Leonard Press.
