Pacific, Mo. — Mel Bay Publications, Inc. has announced the release of six new mandolin publications from five different authors, including:
Kaufman's Favorite 50 Celtic Jigs and Waltzes for Mandolin. A new installment of a four-part series brings us Steve's favorite Celtic Jigs and Waltzes transcribed for the mandolin and fiddle. Includes accompanying CD.
Fun with Strums Mandolin, by William Bay. A beginner's book, designed as a follow-up to Fun with the Mandolin, aids the beginning mandolin player in playing strums applicable to folk and bluegrass music. Book only.
Mandolin Technique Studies, Volume 2, by Matt Raum. 50 studies designed to improve right and left-hand technique for mandolin players of all levels and abilities. Book only.
Irish Music for Mandolin Made Easy, by Philip John Berthoud. A collection of 29 traditional tunes from Ireland, arranged for easy mandolin. All tunes are written clearly in standard notation as well as mandolin tablature with accompanying CD.
Mandolin Gospel Tunes, by Joe Carr. A collection of 34 gospel favorites, well-known hymns and old-time spirituals especially arranged in standard notation and tablature for the mandolin with accompanying CD.
Steve Kaufman's Favorite 50 Mandolin, Tunes S-W (link not available at time of publication). Steve Kaufman takes his favorite American fiddle tunes for the mandolin and puts them alphabetically in four volumes. Includes accompanying CD.
