Montreal, Canada — The Classical Mandolin Society of America has announced plans to hold their annual convention here at the Sandman Hotel Montreal-Longueuil, 999 rue de Serigny, October 15-19, 2008.

As with previous conventions, attendees can expect a wide variety of workshops, concerts, the daily en mass orchestra rehearsals (and performance), the gala banquet, jams, open mics, mandolin & guitar vendors and builders and a mandolin contest.

The CMSA convention is the largest gathering of classical mandolin players in North America. In addition to performances of classical mandolin music, there are always opportunities to participate in workshops and impromptu jams for many different musical styles.

U.S. citizens planning on attending will need a valid passport for travel to Canada.
