84th Annual New York Mandolin Orchestra Spring Concert

New York, N.Y. — The New York Mandolin Orchestra will hold their 84th Annual Spring Concert at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2008.

The concert will be held at the High School for Health Professions and Human Services at 345 East 15th Street, near First Avenue. Take the L train to the 1st Avenue station or it's a short walk from the 4/5/6/L/N/Q/R/W trains at the Union Square station.

There is a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Children under 14 are admitted free.

Jeffrey Ellenberger will conduct the orchestra in a program of music by Mozart, Joplin, J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, Corelli, Armstrong, Hans Schmitt, Lennon/McCartney and others.

Formed in 1924, The New York Mandolin Orchestra is the only classical mandolin orchestra that has played continuously in the New York metropolitan area for the past 84 years.

Being community based, the orchestra performs in hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers, neighborhood centers, and small theatres.
