Gruviera Armonico - Karl Wohlwend, Guitar, & Eugene Braig, Mandolin
Dayton, Oh. — The Dayton Mandolin Orchestra presents "Gruviera Armonico", Eugene Braig, mandolin, and Karl Wohlwend, guitar, Sunday, May 18, 2008, 4:00 p.m. at the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Center For The Performing Arts, 1 West Second Street.
The duo will perform music written for the mandolin in the 18th and 19th century.
Founded in 2004, Gruviera Armonico has performed throughout Ohio, including appearances at Otterbein College's Annual String Showcase and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Programs embrace the vast scope of music written for classical mandolin and guitar and often include performance on rare historical instruments. As a leading scholar of the mandolin, Mr. Braig brings insightful and interesting commentary to the stage as well.
