The AMGuSS 2008 Winter Weekend

Bristol, R.I. — The Directors of the American Mandolin and Guitar Summer School (AMGuSS) announce a weekend of music for mandolinists, guitarists, mandola and mandocello players to be held February 29 - March 2, 2008.

Classes, rehearsals with the American Mandolin & Guitar Orchestra, and a final faculty/student concert are the highlights of the weekend.

There will be a separate day-long workshop preceding the weekend on Friday, February 29 to explore the materials in Marilynn Mair's newly-published method, "The Complete Mandolinist". Sessions will focus on topics of interest to students and to teachers who will be using the method with their own students.

The purpose of the workshop is to introduce Marilynn's new method book to students, and to teachers who will be using it with their own students. All sessions are hands-on. Marilynn will also discuss her philosophy of teaching and there will be time at the end of each session for questions from the participants.

Tuition: For the AMGuSS Winter Weekend is $150.

For "The Complete Mandolinist" session February 29, tuition is $50.

Students should call to reserve their own rooms. To receive the special rate of $95/night and have a room in our block, please request a room for the "Roger Williams University Mandolin Weekend". Rooms must be reserved before February 15.
