Todd Wright of Gibson's Original Acoustic Instrument Division based in Nashville, Tennessee, liked what he saw in the Americana Music Academy and has pledged his company's support for the Academy's Fall Fund-Raiser with the donation of a Gibson F9 mandolin to be sold at silent auction.

"The Gibson mandolin will be the centerpiece of our silent auction and we are absolutely thrilled to have Gibson on board in support of our efforts," said Executive Director Thom Alexander.

"This is the kind of national support that will allow the school to bring more programs to our community faster."

Other donations from the mandolin community include a Legacy F5 from the Michael Kelly Mandolin Company, a cash donation from Collings Guitar and Mandolin of Austin, Texas.

The J. D'Addario & Company, another supporter of the Fall Fund-Raiser and the Academy's Community Mandolin Program has also indicated along with Gibson their interest in providing ongoing support for the Academy's efforts.

The auction will be held Friday, October 1st, 7:00-9:00 PM at a location yet to be determined.
