Brian Roe Wins Arizona State Mandolin Championship

Wickenburg, Ariz. — The Four Corner States Bluegrass Festival was held here on November 9-11, 2007.

As part of the festival, the Arizona State Mandolin Championship was held Sunday, November 11, with 19 year-old Brian Roe from Hastings, Colorado taking home a first place prize of $500 in cash and a new Weber Yellowstone from Sound to Earth.

Second place went to Michael Rolland who took home $200 in cash prize, and third place of $100 cash went to Matthew Rolland, both from Tucson, Arizona.

As a major sponsor of the festival, the The Mandolin Store gave away several mandolins as part of a raffle held in conjunction with the festival.

Mandolins from Eastman, Epiphone, and Michael Kelly were awarded to raffle winners Marion Isles, Mari Gilliland and Ron Wilkening.
