Davies, Fl. — Blues mandolin master Rich DelGrosso will present a mandolin workshop on the music of Johnny Young when he appears at the South Florida International Blues Festival on November 11, 2007.

The title of the workshop is: Learn to play like Johnny Young. Young was a popular player on Chicago's South Side in the early postwar era, having recorded and performed with his own band and with Muddy and Spann.

His style was unique and powerful and it will give you real blues to play on the mandolin. Two pieces will be taught, with music provided in standard and TAB notation. Bring your mandolin and a tape or digital recorder. This is not a lesson for a raw beginner, but all other skill levels will walk away with music to play.

Rich DelGrosso recently moved from L.A. to Houston, Texas recently and is bringing his teaching style on mandolin and guitar to Fuller's Music and this home studio including online video conference style lessons.
