Austin, Tx. — Billy Bright of the Two High String Band will be conducting a free mandolin master class hosted by the Lone Star School of Music, 2824 Real Street, September 15, 2007.

"We are extremely honored to have Billy giving the first bluegrass master class as well as the first master class of our fall '07 season, he is an amazing player and brings the level of experience and professionalism people have come to expect from this series," commented owner Kurt Phillips.

The class will include fundamentals, performance and techniques all with a bluegrass attitude. Attendance is open to the public and players of all levels are welcome to join us for an exciting afternoon of bluegrass method and madness!

While studying guitar at Berklee College of Music in Boston ('93 - '97), Billy co-founded Two High String Band. By the time the band moved to Austin in 1997, he was a full-time mandolinist. Since then Billy has persevered on the mandolin, working with many Austin artists, including Slaid Cleaves, Barbara Kooyman, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Caroline Herring and national touring artists such as Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, Vassar Clements, and Don Edwards. Nowadays, Billy continues to tour with Two High String Band and write, teach and produce music.
