Nashville, Tenn. — The Grand Ole Opry opens the doors of the historic Ryman Auditorium for a special Bill Monroe Bluegrass Celebration to be held October 2, 2007, just preceding the International Bluegrass Music annual convention.

Performers include Del McCoury, The Grascals, Jesse McReynolds & The Virginia Boys and the Steep Canyon Rangers.

The Ryman Auditorium, home of the Grand Ole Opry between 1943 and 1974 is considered the "Mother Church of Country Music" and the birthplace of bluegrass music, being home to some of the most memorable performances of Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys.
