The Prospector Inn in Republic, Washington is hosting the 6th Annual Steve Kaufman Mandolin & Guitar Workshops
April 29-May 1, 2004.

A three-time National Flatpicking Guitar champion, Steve Kaufman was introduced to music by his father and mother, jazz and classically trained pianists, respectively. At the age of four, he began learning to play piano and later moved to the cello. At 10 was playing the guitar, but after a few years of 'strumming,' he put the guitar under his bed. At 14, Steve started 'picking' the guitar and later took up the mndolin. Steve's music covers a broad range of styles including bluegrass, swing, Irish, Appalachian fiddle tunes, folk and country classics and novelty tunes. He has traveled over the entire US and parts of Europe.

He keeps busy writing instructional manuals for Mel Bay Publications and audio and video instructional material for Homespun Tapes.

For more information and to register for the workshops call 888-844-6480.
