Lubec, Maine — Summerkeys Music School for Adults has added an additional week of mandolin instruction led by Marilynn Mair.

The week of July 16-20 has been added due to a sell-out of the July 9-13, 2007 session.

Started in 1992, Summerkeys Music School offers week-long courses in a variety of instruments including piano, guitar, clarinet, violin, cello, and more.

The week-long workshop provides a daily one-hour group class, a daily 60-minute private lesson, and two hours of scheduled practice time (in a private studio) for each student, plus the opportunity to play and be coached in ensemble music not only with other mandolins, but also with flutists, violinists and pianists whose programs run the same week.

The workshop is open to students at all levels; there is no audition or entrance requirement other than owning an instrument and bringing it with you.

Marilynn founded and directs the American Mandolin & Guitar Summer School, a national forum for mandolin & guitar instruction, and is a Professor of Music at Roger Williams University.

Lubec, Maine sits on a hill at the end of a peninsula jutting into The Bay of Fundy and abutting Campobello Island. The international boundary marker between Maine and New Brunswick, Canada is located at the tip of the town breakwater, and you can walk into Canada across the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial Bridge.

Tuition: $495
Chamber Music Option: $50 per week
