Don Stiernberg Workshops

The Americana Music Academy (AMA) in Lawrence, Kansas presents two mandolin workshops with jazz mandolin master Don Stiernberg on Saturday, February 21, 2004.

AMA is a non-profit roots-based music academy and in cooperation with the Mandolin Cafe is presenting a series of mandolin events in celebration of Lawrence's annual Mandofest, held in Lawrence in early May.

Stiernberg, on virtually everyone's list of top mandolin players will present two workshops with registration limited to twelve participants for each session with the second session a repeat of the first.

This Chicago-based mandolinist has recently released two critically acclaimed jazz mandolin recordings and has been interviewed by Terry Gross on NPR's Fresh Air. He is also in demand as a clinician, appearing on the faculty at Steve Kaufman's mandolin camp, and will be a featured instructor at The Art of Mandolin - A Mandolin Symposium this August in Santa Cruz, California.
