Cheverly, Md. — The Capitol Area Friends of Bluegrass and Old-Time Music (CABOMA) present an Orrin Star mandolin workshop, "Making Your Mando Sing" on November 4, 2006 from Noon to 2 p.m.
"One of the hurdles facing mandolinists on the road from memorizing solos to making music," says Star, "is learning how to incorporate rhythm moves into their lead playing. Using a version of the song Shady Grove as a vehicle, this workshop zeroes in on the various strums and extra notes that really glue a solo together."
For novice through intermediate players (all but total beginners).
