The 2006 Classical Mandolin Convention will be held in Louisville, Kentucky, October 18-22, 2006 and hosted by the Louisville Mandolin Orchestra.
In celebration of the CMSA's 20th anniversary and the success the organization has had on elevating the standard of classical mandolin playing in North America, the 2006 spotlight will be turned on our own members. Performance opportunities will be given to CMSA members and ensembles to showcase their talents in a variety of homegrown concerts and workshops.

Be part of the CMSA's Mandolin Instructor's Training Seminar and learn how to teach mandolin, or improve/sharpen your instructing skills by participating in our Mandolin Instructors Program Seminar starting at 4:00 p.m. the day before the convention (Tuesday, October 17, 2006), and finishing Wednesday morning before regular Convention registration begins. The seminar will be held at the Convention site (the Brown Hotel). The seminar will run 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, with a one hour dinner break, and reconvene from 8:00 a.m. to Noon Wednesday morning. You can fly in Tuesday morning and still attend without adding more than one additional night to your hotel stay. Dr. Jim Bates will teach this seminar.
The seminar is a separate charge $40 per student to attend both Tuesday and Wednesday sessions. We will not limit the number of students, but please make your reservations early so that Toni has a head count for copying training materials. The Mandolin Instructors Program seminar will be one you won't want to miss if you have any aspirations for teaching the Mandolin family instruments!
