Announcing Mandolin Radio, an Internet-based radio station broadcasting mandolin music via Live365.com for friends and aficionados of the mandolin.
The mandolin is a featured instrument in a wide variety of musical genres from Rock to Classical Music, and every genre in between. Mandolin Radio's mission is to support the proliferation of mandolin music everywhere.
Mandolin Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day via the Live365.com broadcasting web site and features a large and growing play list of mandolin-focused music and musicians. Mandolin Radio currently features two programs: Bluegrass Mandolin and Mandolin Traveler.
Bluegrass Mandolin features an hour and a half of all Bluegrass music with an emphasis on the mandolin. Bluegrass Mandolin's play list is updated weekly each Saturday. Bluegrass Mandolin is broadcast on Saturdays at 3:00 PM CT and Thursdays at 7:30 PM.
Each week Mandolin Traveler, a one-hour program hosted by Paul Lucas, features the playing of a mandolin artist or theme of the week (Mandolin Orchestras, Blues Mandolin, etc.). Mandolin Traveler will also include new mandolin music releases and mandolin news as other segments on the program. Mandolin Traveler will be broadcast each week on Saturdays at 7:00 PM and on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM Central Time.
Mandolin Traveler's premier broadcast is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 7:00 PM and features Clyde Curley as the mandolin artist of the week and new music from The Montana Mandolin Society and Two High Stringband.
