Carlo Aonzo Mandolin Workshop
By Mandolin Cafe
March 30, 2006 - 5:00 pm
Since 2001, Carlo Aonzo has come to New York City every year to spread his vision of Italian style mandolin. With grace, charm, and patience, he teaches and illustrates his style and technique. Attendees at his workshops learn in a warm and supportive, but challenging environment.
Music is distributed months in advance so students can prepare the material. At the workshop, Carlo teaches finer points of nuance, style, dynamics, and ensemble playing.
Attendees have unanimously praised Carlo and the workshop.
The workshop is intended for all levels but intermediate and advanced mandolinists will benefit the most from this program. Beginners may be accepted but should inquire as to suitablility before registering.
We hope you will join us in New York for the next workshop.
This year, the workshop will be held June 2-4, 2006. We will be playing compositions by Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart (arranged by Munier), Ugolino, and Susato, plus, for the first time, contemporary compositions for the mandolin by Jonathan Jensen and Victor Kioulaphides. Sheet music will be mailed to you when you register.
The cost of the workshop is $380 for the entire workshop (18 hours of instruction including sheet music). For the Technique and Exercises class only (2 hours): $40. For the first day only (Technique and Exercises plus 4 hours of Mandolin Orchestra including sheet music): $140.
