AcousticMusic.Org presents "Making Your Mando Sing," a mandolin workshop with veteran bluegrass and folk performer and instructor Orrin Star on Saturday, March 11, from 2-4 PM in Guilford, Connecticut.
"One of the hurdles facing mandolinists on the road from memorizing solos to making music," says Star, "is learning how to incorporate rhythm moves into their lead playing. Using a version of the song Shady Grove as a vehicle, this workshop zeroes in on the various strums and extra notes that really glue a solo together."
For novice through intermediate players (all but total beginners)
Bring your mandolin, non-video recording devices
Limited to 12 participants
Includes written hand-out
