Faculty Recital by August Watters at Berklee College of Music

August Watters

Berklee College of Music faculty mandolinist August Watters will present a wide-ranging recital of music for mandolin and mandolin family instruments on February 1, 2006, including mandola, octave mandolin and mandocello. The recital will include performances by the following groups:

New England Mandolin Ensemble. This mandolin quintet is led by A. Watters and features his jazz-oriented tunes and arrangements. The evening's performance will feature some of New England's best mandolinists: Marilynn Mair, Jim Dalton, John McGann (octave mandolin), and Mitch Nelin (mandocello).

A Berklee faculty bluegrass ensemble made up of A. Watters, David Hollender (banjo), John McGann (octave mandolin), and Mitch Nelin (bass).

A Brazilian Choro mandolin trio including Paulo Sa, Marilynn Mair, and A. Watters.

Mandomaven. This mandolin trio playing traditional Jewish music is led by Alan Kaufman (mandolin) with A. Watters (octave mandolin) and Mitch Nelin (mandocello).

The concert is open to the public. Admission is free.
