Don Julin Launches Traverse City, Michigan Based Mandolin Ensemble

88 Strings is a new mandolin and guitar ensemble based in Traverse City, Michigan under the guidance of mandolinist Don Julin, one of Michigan's premier instrumentalists.

Made up of 14 area musicians ranging from seasoned musical professionals to students, the group's inaugural performance will be December 17, 2005 at 8:00 PM at the Shine Cafe located in the Horizon book store in Traverse City, Michigan.

In addition to leading this ensemble, Julin has achieved national acclaim for his original compositions and has won national songwriting contests. His music is often heard on NPR's radio magazine All Things Considered.

Don performs throughout the United States and Europe and has been a featured performer for the Classical Mandolin Society of America including other international events.
