How do I get my instrument into the Loar Tasting?
All you really need to do is just bring it to the GOLDEN EMPIRE BALLROOM in the Holiday Inn Select - Bakersfield, California at the Convention Center, the site of our festival. Please be there around 11:30 on Thursday morning. It would help if you have the following information on a 3 x 5 card:
Do I need to pre-register my instrument so I'm guaranteed a spot?
No, see above
Is there security?
Our venue, the GOLDEN EMPIRE BALLROOM, has one entrance, controlled by our security chief. Admission is only permitted if you are wearing your Festival wristband. Then, inside we will have around 15-18 staff wearing red "staff" shirts keeping an eye all the mandolins and the guests. In addition we will have five undercover security people watching the guests and the mandolins.
Is a group picture planned?
Yes, and more. Each Loar owner will receive a LoarFest T-shirt, group photo, and CD of the Loar mando tasting.
