Collings Limited Edition Grand Ole Opry Mandolin
Collings Guitars and Mandolins of Austin, Texas has contracted with the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee to produce 80 custom Limited Edition mandolins in celebration of the Opry's 80th anniversary.
This custom MF model mandolin features a pure gold Opry peghead logo and the dates 1925-2005, and a special star inlay at the fifth fret.
The maple on the back and sides of the mandolin is from the Adirondack Mountains, as is the spruce wood used on the top. The fret board, bridge and peg head veneer are ebony.
The top is nitrocellulose lacquer polished to a beautiful gloss with a rich maroon/burgundy color to represent the Opry's logo. The back and sides are matte finished. This mandolin is expected to retail in the $6,000 range and will be available from Collings dealers.

This is the first Grand Ole Opry branded instruments to be offered since the Opry's 75th Anniversary Martin guitar.
These limited edition instruments will be made to order, with only 80 of each available.
As part of the introduction of the instruments, the Shop At Home television network will air a series of Opry-themed merchandise shows that will include additional Opry merchandise.
The first show will air on August 21, 2005 at 9 p.m., hosted by Opry member Pam Tillis.
The exclusive items will also be available at The Opry Shop in Nashville and opry.com.
