Hal Leonard Irish Bouzouki Method by Roger Landes

Milwaukee, Wi. — The Hal Leonard Corporation has announced the publication of Hal Leonard Irish Bouzouki Method by Roger Landes.

Designed as an easy-to-use beginner's guide, the method focuses on teaching the basics of the instrument as well as accompaniment techniques for a variety of Irish song forms.

"Over the past two and a half decades I have been asked for an instructional book by hundreds of students, so I was honored to be asked to write this book for Hal Leonard. It fills a need for an introductory method book for the Irish bouzouki and reflects a growing awareness of and interest in the instrument," said author Landes.

"When the world's largest music publisher gets behind such a book I think it shows a broadening of the instrument's cultural profile and in this case its use in Irish traditional music. My hope is that it will help learners negotiate their initial experience with the instrument and get started on a firm technical and musical foundation."

Accompanying audio tracks accessed online via streaming or download include demonstrations of all examples in the book.

About the author: a prominent performer on the U.S. Irish music scene, Roger Landes has played bouzouki since 1981 and is the founder and director of Zoukfest, a week-long international celebration of the instrument held in New Mexico.

Congratulations on your book Roger.
I think it certainly fills a need.
