The Loar LM-700-VS

The Loar LM-700-VS

Hayward, Calif. — The Loar Mandolins and Mandolin Cafe are combining efforts to give away a brand new LM-700-VS mandolin, the top of the line model from The Loar. The final prize will include an installed pick-up and case making the value of the total giveaway $1,722.98.

Registration for an opportunity to win the LM-700-VS will commence on the Mandolin Cafe home page on September 1, 2014. No purchase is necessary to participate and registration will be open to all visitors, regardless of location. Selection of the winning entry is by random drawing of a single winner on September 22.

In addition to the LM-700-VS mandolin with pick-up and case, the winner also receives two ball caps with The Loar logo to round out their winning entry.

Product Description

The LM-700 is a tribute to classic design techniques. From the hand-carved, hand graduated AAA spruce top and AAA Flamed Maple back and sides to the abalone/mother-of-pearl headstock inlay, these mandolins were built to represent Golden Age craftsmanship updated for the modern era.

Carved and assembled in The Loar Hand Carved Design Workshop, then hand-rubbed with nitrocellulose lacquer for clean warm tone and powerful projection, these mandolins deliver professional-level sound and playability.

The LM-700 is assembled with a one-piece maple neck and bound ebony fretboard, ebony bridge and vintage-style Gotoh tuners, bone nut and ebony bridge.

Today's mandolin players want to jam in an electrified setting or with a larger ensemble, so we'll also install a Fishman bridge pickup into this LM-700-VS and setting it up at our Hayward, California workshop.
