Mandolin players will have a chance to study choro music with a true master of the style when Brazilian native Hamilton de Holanda makes his appearance as an instructor the entire week of California Brazil Camp, August 28 to September 3, 2005.

The camp features all styles of Brazilian music and dancing and will be located in the heart of the Redwood Forest in Cazadero, California, just outside of San Francisco.

Considered to be one of the greatest mandolin players in the world, Holanda is becoming known internationally for his incredible talent, having played with Hermeto Pascoal, Mike Marshall, John Paul Jones, and others. Hamilton is a master of improvisation and has amazing virtuosic speed and technique. He is known for his 10-string mandolin custom made with a low C string which gives him incredible facility to create chord melodies.

Holanda has just recorded a CD with Mike Marshall which will be available in the near future.
