ZoukFest World Music Camp Returns to New Mexico

ZoukFest 2005 World Music Camp will take place November 6-12 at the beautiful, historic Ghost Ranch Conference Center near Abiquiu, New Mexico, with Concerts in Taos, November 4-5, and Santa Fe and Albuquerque, November 11-12.

Classes at ZoukFest, running Monday, November 7 through Friday, November 11 will cover many styles - Irish, Scottish, Greek, Balkan and Middle Eastern. There will also be classes and workshops in Irish Fiddle, Irish Flute and Tinwhistle, Irish Bouzouki and Guitar, Anglo-Celtic Song Traditions, Middle Eastern Music, Eastern European Singing, Old-Time Appalachian Music and Polyrhythms.

This year's ZoukFest Staff includes Randal Bays, one of the finest Irish fiddlers and guitarists in the United States; Celtic mandolinist extraordinaire Dan Beimborn; Middle and Near Eastern Violinist Beth Bahia Cohen; internationally acclaimed Celtic singer Connie Dover; Balkan vocalist Sonja Drakulich; Middle and Near Eastern percussionist Polly Tapia Ferber; Northwestern Celtic bouzouki and guitar player Stanley Greenthal; Middle & Near Eastern string specialist Gari Hegedus; Multicultural percussionist and instrumentalist Paddy League; songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chipper Thompson; in addition to the festival's director, bouzouki virtuoso Roger Landes.
