Mandolin Building Workshop with Don Kawalek

The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center Adult Music Program in Front Royal, Virginia, will hold a Mandolin Making Workshop on November 9-12, 2003.

The workshop will provide each participant with an opportunity to build his/her own mandolin. This program, designed for beginner and advanced craftspersons, will occur over three-and-a-half days and features professional instruction from Don Kawalek, a seasoned instrument-maker and master builder with 25 years of experience. Special techniques workshops include inlaying, bending, and finishing.

The program starts on Sunday, November 9 at 4:00 p.m. and concludes on Wednesday by 2:00 p.m. Participation is limited to 10 people.

A $500 fee includes all materials, instruction, lodging, meals, and other extras. A special day rate is also available for $420.00 and includes three lunches and Sunday dinner. You may send a $100.00 deposit to hold a space. The balance due will be collected upon arrival at the program. Early-Bird Rate: pay in-full by September 15, 2003, you pay only $470.00.
