Maize, Kans. — Chamber Music at the Barn has announced registration is now open for the 3rd Annual Great Plains Mandolin Camp, July 7-8 featuring Mike Marshall and Caterina Lichtenberg.
Two of the greatest mandolinists in the world, each from very different musical backgrounds, are on a journey sure to be one of the sweetest collaborations in the long and varied history of their chosen instrument and are bringing their talents to the Midwest for a very special concert and mandolin workshop.
In concert, Mike Marshall and Caterina Lichtenberg will take you on a journey through the history of the mandolin as it made its way from 16th century Europe to the new world of the Americas, picking up strains of melodies from each new place and the many musical hands that it has touched.
A $150 workshop fee includes the $22 admission fee to the Saturday night concert. The workshop is conveniently located minutes from Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport for those flying in.
Advance workshop registration is strongly encouraged as a sell-out is anticipated.
