San Diego Classical Mandolin Camp - July 31 - August 5, 2012

San Diego, Calif. — The San Diego Classical Mandolin Camp led by classical mandolinist and educator Chris Acquavella along with guest instructor Israeli virtuoso Alon Sariel will explore the depth and breadth of the classical mandolin, from baroque to modern times, through four days of intensive classes, rehearsals, and concerts.

The camp will take place from July 31 - August 5, 2012 at the beautiful Kona Kai Resort on Shelter Island in sunny San Diego.

The Kona Kai is just 10 minutes from the airport, located on Shelter Island surrounded by the San Diego Bay. The hotel has offered campers a special rate of $149 for a single, or $149 for a double that you can share. Please contact them directly for reservations and mention the San Diego Classical Mandolin Camp to receive the discounted price. Attendees are welcome to find their own hotel or other accommodations, but we think you will get the most out of your experience staying at The Kona Kai.

Tuition for the SDCMC is $400, which includes all classes, orchestra rehearsals and performance, music/class materials and evening concerts (Chris, Alon and special guests). Tuition cost does not include food or lodging. Transportation to and from San Diego Airport can be arranged.

Check in for the camp will begin Tuesday, July 31, with classes starting Wednesday morning. Check out will be Sunday, August 5. Classes and concerts go from Wednesday morning August 1 to Saturday evening August 4.

In additional to orchestra rehearsals, individual classes include (with possible additions to follow):
