Portland, Ore. — Mandolinist Tim Connell has just released two new CDs with his Brazilian choro ensemble Rio Con Brio.
Caprice is the third album of classic choro instrumental repertoire featuring Tim's sparkling, expressive mandolin playing.
And on Fado/Fate, Rio Con Brio accompanies the stunning Portuguese vocalist Alexandra Coutinho in her debut release, perhaps the only recording of the Portugal's passionate fado music in existence to feature the mandolin in the place of the more ubiquitous Portuguese guitar.
