Carlo Aonzo's Fifth International Mandolin Academy

Carlo Aonzo's Fifth International Mandolin Academy

Savona, Italy — Carlo Aonzo's International Mandolin Academy will hold their annual week-long mandolin course August 22-29, 2010 in scenic Savona, Italy.

As in years past, the Academy is made up of instruction on mandolin, mandola, mandoloncello and guitar.

In addition to host Carlo Aonzo on classical Italian mandolin, guest instructors include Don Stiernberg on jazz mandolin and guitar, Rich DelGrosso on blues mandolin and guitar, Brazilian mandolin legend Dudu Maia, Katsumi Nagaoka on classical guitar, and Douglas Lora on Brazilian guitar.

Courses will be given in Italian and English. The Academy will take place at the Bishop's Seminary in Savona. The venue is easily accessible on foot from the city centre and adequate parking is available.

The Academy is open to mandolin and guitar players of all levels, from beginners who never played before, to expert and accomplished instrumentalists. The study of music will be enhanced by various cultural events. Together with musicians from all over the world, moments of intensive cultural, musical and social exchange are shared with participants of all ages in which music becomes the common, universal language.
