Emma's Choice, Op. 10, by Lou Martin

Emma's Choice, Op. 10, by Lou Martin

Albany, N.Y. — Lou Martin, senior Monroe mandolin disciple and Rounder Records solo artist, has announced the release of two more books self-published by Louis Martin Music BMI.

The first, Emma's Choice, Op. 10 is a compilation of 52 tunes from earlier American traditional music c. 1790-1850, a fascinating period whose music norms were different from the currently accepted and received tradition. An example: "Anacreon in Heaven," the drinking song that became "The Star Spangled Banner." $20.00 plus $4.00 shipping and handling.

The second, Lou Martin Newsletter, Volume One, January - December, 2009, is 92 pages long, and uses regular computer paper, not the heavy watermarked paper used for Lou's other books in order to keep the price down. All the text from the first year's monthly newsletters is here in chronological order, including all the music. Covers and format are the same as the other previously published books. Page numbers have been inserted, and there is a categorized table of contents, i.e. Prose Text, Reading the Notes, Tunes. $22.00 plus $5.00 S/H.

Standard notation only. All books published in heavy cover stock, 32 lb. watermarked paper, and standard classical format, comb-bound.
