Groton, Mass. — Mandolin Camp North 2010 convenes April 16-18, featuring an all-star line-up of mandolin instructors.

This year the camp welcomes to its staff Don Stiernberg, David Surette, Sharon Gilchrist, David Harvey, Rich DelGrosso, Skip Gorman, Alan Kaufman, Dave Reiner, Richie Brown, Ben Pearce, Neil Rossi, Phil Zimmerman, Martin Grosswendt, Lorraine Hammond, Mike Holmes, Dave Howard, Bill Walach and special guest, fiddle and mandolin phenom, Darol Anger.

Within the musically rich and diverse staff are the very finest in jazz, celtic, blues, bluegrass and old-time musicians, making Mandolin Camp North one of the country's premier acoustic music events of 2010.

Registration is now open and students can take advantage of the reduced rates through the camp's Early Bird Discount available through February 15.

The camp curriculum consists of Bluegrass, Newgrass, Old-Time, Blues and Jazz.

Not just for mandolin players, instructors Alan Kaufman and Dave Reiner will offer a concentration in fiddle—whether you are at the beginner, intermediate or advanced level. Mike Rivers and Dave Howard will teach guitar classes in both backup and lead. Mike Kropp and Bruce Stockwell offer instruction on banjo and Kelly Stockwell on bass will be there to round out band classes and jams.

Mandolin Camp North is under the direction of Mike Holmes, Camp Director, and Phil Zimmerman, Music Director.

For attendees flying in, Groton, Massachussets is conveniently located approximately one-hour driving time from Logan International Airport in Boston.

Just a for what it's worth if you plan to fly in...you can also fly into Manchester, NH, just 30 or so minutes north of the camp check the map). Southwest Airlines uses Manchester as its "Boston" airport. Machester is about an hour, depending on traffic, from Boston.
